Preparing for Handstand Courageous Heart Workshop
November 22, 2008 Saturday 5:30-7:30pm
Tara invites all levels of experience to join her in an exploration and preparation for going upside down. During this 2 hour workshop, she will guide students toward accessing their hearts, allowing them to fearlessly move into potential handstands. When we can access the heart and move from the heart, it makes the possibility of handstands open up. Tara will offer empowering tools and focus on the appropriate principles and actions to prepare the body for this challenging inversion. The class will lead students seamlessly through a specific sequence targeted to opening the upper body and shoulders while strengthening the core. Even if you have never done a handstand in your life, come, this class could offer you that opportunity!
Lower Body: Saturday Jan 3, 2009 5:30- 7:30pm
These two therapeutic sessions are focused on teaching students the tools and principles necessary to create new and healthy patterns in the body. The lower body workshop will detail therapeutic exercises to heal the knees, hips, and lower back while the upper body workshop will focus on the exercises done to heal the middle/ upper back, neck, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Students will learn observation skills, physical adjustments, and an overall understanding of optimal alignment that allows for greater freedom of expression on and off the mat.
New Beginnings Unfold Tara and Zhenja invite those who have completed an Immersion 1 program,
to continue on their journey, and step even more deeply into the
graceful Anusara Method. In part 2, we will grow and cultivate our
understanding of the Universal Principles of Alignment, which will lead
us into more advanced asana. The course will also include an in depth
study of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, an ancient yogic text that systemized
the method of yoga. Students will be guided toward empowering
themselves on and off the mat.
Pre-requisites: Anusara Immersion 1
This 3 level program eventually offers 108 in-depth hours of training that are taught in 3 parts (each immersion is 36 hours).
