Beginners FAQs ~
What will this course cover?
Our Beginners courses are designed to provide you with a basic foundation in yoga. In this four week progressive course, our instructors will teach you the basic yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation techniques. You will meet with the same teacher and students in an intimate and nurturing setting. In this course, you will become more flexible, reduce stress and start a path to overall well-being. Find the balance in your life you’ve been looking for!
Is the Beginners course for me?
The Beginners course is for those who are physically active, but new to yoga. Or maybe you have practiced yoga sporadically over the years. This course will make you feel more confident when you enter an open or basic-level yoga class. Please be aware that if you have injuries, have not been physically active in some time, or are over 50 you should look into our Gentle Restorative class first.
What if I'm not flexible or skinny?
Yoga is not a practice of being flexible – it is a practice that helps develop flexibility. Yoga is for everybody. Young, old, big, small – everyone can benefit from making their body stronger and more limber, their breath more easeful, and their mind more serene. Yoga can help improve both your body and your body image, teaching you to find contentment in the present moment.
What do I wear?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. Yoga pants or sweat pants are fine, and you'll prefer a close-fitting T-shirt.
