Descriptions ~

Beginners Course
Our Beginners courses are designed to provide you with a basic foundation in yoga. In this four week progressive course, our instructors will teach you the basic yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation techniques. You will meet with the same teacher and students in an intimate and nurturing setting. Check our Beginners page for upcoming dates. If the available course dates do not fit your schedule, look into our Gentle Restorative or Basic classes.

Gentle Restorative
An extra slow-paced class. Relaxing and rejuvinating for students who are over 50, have chronic injuries, or have not been active in some time. Also for those who want to use props while learning the basic yoga postures.

Basic
Simple breath/body practice for beginners and those wanting to reinforce fundamentals.

Basic II
For students wth some prior yoga experience, our Basic II classes expand upon basic asanas, as well as proper breathing and alignment. The sequencing of poses is more fluid and challenging, and inversions are introduced.

Vinyasa
Vinyasa emphasizes strength, stamina, and mindfulness ~ all with a flow that aligns with the breath. Students practice more advanced poses, deeper backbends, arm balances, and challenging inversions. These classes are suitable for those with at least 5 months of regular yoga practice.

Lunchtime Yoga
1 hour Open Vinyasa classes at a discounted rate. Perfect for busy people! Open to all students.

Ashtanga
Ashtanga is a form of Hatha Yoga that uses a powerful sequence of postures known as the Primary Series. Individual attention given with hands-on adjustments in the tradition of Pattabhi Jois. Ashtanga Yoga develops strength, flexibility, and a realignment of the body. Intermediate to advanced levels.

Anusara
The poses are to be “heart-oriented”, expressed from “inside out”, instead of trying to control the body and mind from the outside. Emphasis is on remembering the spiritual purpose of hatha/vinyasa yoga, including reconnecting with our innate goodness, power, and beauty, and expressing ourselves from that divine place.

Dharma Yoga
The Dharma Mittra style of yoga is a stairway to bliss that reintegrates the continuous flow of prana (cosmic energy) through the spinal column, emanating deep into all areas of the physical, metabolic, intuitive and bliss bodies. The carefully selected inspirational Yoga postures in Sri Dharma's Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa series for all the levels are a culmination of his 40 years dedicated organization. They will unify the physical, mental and emotional bodies. Practice of these asanas strengthens and tones muscles, glands and internal organs. The postures are performed with slow graceful movements, so fantastic inner calm and self-control are felt immediately. With regular practice problems and disease are gradually brought to an end & self-realization comes easily.

Jivamukti
Jivamukti Yoga is a vigorously physical and intellectually stimulating practice leading to spiritual awareness. Each class focuses on a theme, which is supported by Sanskrit chanting, readings, references to scriptural texts, music, spoken word, asana sequencing, meditation and yogic breathing practices. It is recommended, but not required, for students to have a foundation in Basics. Classes are open to all levels, with modifications and variations given to meet the needs of students.

Pilates
This hour-long class is a comprehensive whole body exercise experience designed to balance, lengthen and strengthen the body's muscles. You'll learn the basics of pilates with a focus on both mobilizing and stabilizing the abdominals, back and pelvis. Alleviate back pain, increase flexibility & bone density, and improve your posture while integrating breath into your workout.

Prenatal
Yoga postures with pregnancy modifications for moms-to-be. Some prior yoga experience is recommended. Emphasis on alignment and overall body awareness, restorative postures, breathing, and relaxation.

Bija Kids Yoga
These courses are offered for children from crawling to 6 yrs and meets once a week for 12 weeks. $240 for full course or $23 drop-in. Click HERE for more info.

Enjoy a yoga class with your baby! Ages 6 weeks to crawling.
