Morgen Love ~
Yoga People of Brooklyn Heights is happy to introduce Morgen Love to
its elite community of yoga practitioners.
Morgen began her journey as a student at Yoga People where she was an
enthusiastic participant in a number of vinyasa classes. After four
years of dedicated and passionate practice (and a lot of soul searching)
she took the plunge and ventured to California where she studied Prana
Vinyasa flow with yoga celebrity Shiva Rhea. That experience transformed
her practice—and her life.
Prana vinyasa flow is a unique and creative approach to yoga that emphasizes
the constant and inevitable flow of prana, or life-sustaining breath,
as a principal guiding force in any spiritually centered yoga practice.
Morgen’s program integrates what she learned under Shiva’s
guidance with classical and innovative forms of vinyasa and flow from
Krishnamacharya’s teachings. Also drawing on elements of Tantric
tradition, Ayurvedic theory, Bhakti (or devotional) yoga, and Somatics,
Morgen offers a comprehensive practice meant to enlighten and challenge
her students.
In fact, this emphasis on flow and vibration is what initially attracted
Morgen to Shiva’s program. She sensed an intrinsic vibration within,
but couldn’t fully understand it's meaning or potential. Yoga
really helped Morgen to tap into this energy and helped her begin to
understand its ability to heal and transform, to create balance, and
to cultivate trust.
Morgen now teaches a Basic II Vinyasa class on Mondays from 9:30-11am,
a Basic vinyasa class from 8-9:15pm, a Vinyasa class on Saturdays from
10-11:30 am, and leads a number of the Intro to Yoga classes for beginning
students.
During Morgen’s varied classes she believes she merely serves
as a guide for practitioners as they strive to find a balance between
grace and body awareness, alignment and flow. She seeks, in essence,
to provide a safe env ironment for both beginners and experts to grow,
experiment, and play.
Morgen continues to enrich her Brooklyn yoga practice and teaching by
attending classes and workshops with Shiva Rea, Twee Merrigan, Simon
Park, Jenny Sauer-Klein and Jason Nemer (of San Francisco’s AcroYoga).
Various Yin and Restorative Yoga workshops across NYC’s tri-state
area have further rounded out her teaching philosophy.
